I hold two degrees from Concordia University including a Masters in Art Therapy. I am a graduate of a Post-Masters Program at the Argyle Institute of Human Relations, specializing in Marital and Family Therapy, am an approved clinical member of the OPTSQ (L'Ordre Proffessionel des Travailleurs Sociaux du Quebec), a clinical member of the QAMFT (Quebec Association for Marital and Family Therapy), the AAMFT (American Association for Marital and Family Therapy), as well as a certified member of the A.A.T.Q.(Association des Art-Thérapeutes du Québec). I have been in private practice for many years and carry full professional liability insurance. I have worked in the fields of Child and Adult Psychiatry, Addictions, Oncology, and Sexual Assault. I am a columnist for various Montreal publications such as the Cedar Park Play Group and the Rising Tao newsletters and am a regular contributor as a relationship expert for the magazine Boomers.

In a
ddition to individual and couple therapy, I work with children and adolescents who have problems with peer relations, anger management, childhood depression, anxiety, difficulties in school, self-esteem issues, attention-deficit disorders, and regressive behaviour. Psychotherapy is most effective when the parents are involved for it helps the child feel understood and accepted. It also enables parents to learn practical strategies for managing problematic behaviours at home.

In addition to working with parents, I often coordinate with schoolteachers and counsellors to increase their understanding of the child’s emotional needs and to help resolve any behavioural difficulties he or she is having at school.
